In its 119th year of existence, St. Paul University Dumaguete, the first Catholic educational institution in the province of Negros Oriental, has maintained its unshakable dedication to high-quality Catholic education. The overflowing generosity of Christ inspires stakeholders to make a firm commitment to uphold our vision-mission, which is to embrace integral formation and evangelize through Catholic Education.

The school's efforts to adhere to the standards established by the Department of Education and the Philippines Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) are a strong indication of its desire to develop and improve. So that it can continue to provide top-notch services to its clientele, the Basic Education Department signs up for a formal re-survey visit of PAASCU certification.

The Basic Education Program's formal re-survey results from last August 6-7, 2018, gave us fresh opportunities for improvement. Additionally, it pushed us to give the suggestions serious consideration and instilled in us a dedication to constantly improve and provide high-quality instruction for our learners.

The power that keeps SPUD at the forefront in the pursuit of quality Catholic Education has been the cooperative efforts of the administration, faculty, staff, and maintenance, as well as the active participation of the Parents Homeroom Collaborating Council (PHCC) officers and other lay collaborators, inspired by the SPUD Vision-Mission and Paulinian Core Values.

Moreover, the program's overall adherence to the standards is ensured because of:

First, the university crafts and implements policies and procedures that are practical and relevant to all stakeholders. It strives to be on track with changing laws and regulations to guarantee statutory and regulatory provisions. This is also aligned with the vision-mission of the institution and the core values that it upholds.

Second, communication with all parties is ascertained through meetings, dialogue, consultation, feedback, marketing and promotions. These are documented and updated;

Third, the policies and processes are consistently followed, and internal and external monitoring is done regularly. Risks are mapped out, and issues are resolved;

Fourth, in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) world, the university manifests its resiliency through the Learning Continuity Plan. This gives provisions to the learners on how to keep up with pressing issues concerning their learning impediments; and

Lastly, the administration and its personnel strive to have full, conscious, and active participation in all its endeavors, bringing Jesus Christ as the Good News to all.

At present, the institution strives to keep up with the current trends in education, addressing personalized and self-led learning along with the challenges in education.
